Hope House is a transitional living program for women with young children. In operation since July of 2005 Hope House has helped many struggling families find support, structure and independence.
Through Christian based principles of grace and love the staff and volunteers of Hope House connect residents with community resources, counseling and life skills classes. The Hope House program partners moms with a mentor to walk with them through their residency and beyond helping them remain accountable to the program and offering them guidance and support. Residents are required to attend two house meetings per week and a panel advisory committee once per month. Residents are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Women with young children (under the age of 11) who are homeless or facing homelessness are encouraged to apply for the program. Hope House requires that women be drug and alcohol free for 9 months before applying. The application includes a request for an essay written by the applicant to describe her current situation and what life situations and choices have brought her to apply for the program. The application also asks about her extended family, health and legal issues and past substance abuse. For a copy of the application please feel free to email s.bezak@gvcconline.net.
All applicants are screened by the director.
